Maybe I'm the only one that this happens to, but this has been a week of food failures. I've tried 2 new recipes (that I created) and they were both really bad. I tried to make sloppy Joe from TVP and it turned out really gross. I've actually made this before and it was good, but something about it this time didn't work. Then last night I tried to make a Spanish rice casserole and it was dry and nasty. I think I'll try the Spanish rice casserole again with some minor changes and it will be good it's just frustrating. I think next week I'll stick with things that are "regulars" in our house.
What do you do when you have a food failure?
I tend to soldier through, eat the offending meal, and try to move on. If it was something I created off the cuff, I'll check out some recipes for similar foods to see if I could've taken a different approach.
